The latest release of CIRSMA™ incorporates the following
new features:
- New Menu Icons
Menu icons have been adjusted in order to facilitate easier navigation throughout the system. This modification is intended to provide the user with improved consistency while using CIRSMA™.
- Toolbars
The main toolbars can now be moved to screen locations by dragging them to the position that best suit the user. Toolbars can also be docked to several screen positions. Toolbar positions are stored based on the preferences of each CIRSMA™ user thus further enhancing the user experience.
- Pinned Explorer and Report Toolbars
Explorer and Report Toolbars can pinned to a screen position based on the preferences of each user by dragging them to any preferred screen position. Explorer and Report Toolbars can also be temporarily hidden by releasing the toolbar pin of the docked toolbar. A toolbar tab will appear in the location that the toolbar was docked Once the toolbar pin has been released the toolbar can be opened by simply holding the mouse curser over the toolbar tab. The toolbar will re-hide once the mouse curser is moved away from the toolbar.
- Configurable Menus
All menus are now configurable by the user. Menu buttons can be added to existing menus by Right-clicking in the menu bar area and using the features in the Commands Tab in the “Customize” screen. Short cuts key strokes can also be added or modified in the Keyboard Tab. Menu behaviour and appearance are also configurable by using the selections in the Options Tab. Toolbar settings are stored based on the preferences of each CIRSMA™ user thus further enhancing the user experience.
- Right-Mouse-Click to Navigate Between Records
The Right Mouse button navigation functionality has been expanded in many screens in order to improve the user experience and decrease the time required to use the system. In many of the screens the user is able to choose the screen of interest and navigate directly to that screen by clicking on the selections provided.
- Inactive Record Indicators
Inactive record checkboxes have been provided in most CIRSMA™ screens. “Inactive” items are highlighted in the Explorer Bar using red text. By setting an item to “Inactive” new links to that item are disabled. Items may be reactivated at any time.
- Selectable Trainer
A “User is a Trainer” Check box has been added in the Human Resource screen. If the checkbox is checked, that person can be selected as the Trainer in the training event screen.
- Improved Search Capability
Record search capability has been greatly improved with this release. Searches can now be based on the main type of record and sub-items related to the main record. Once the search results are displayed the user can navigate to the desired record by clicking on the result and using the Right mouse button menu. The search screen will remain open and active until it is closed by the user.
- Unknown “Purchase/Developed” Date
An “Unknown Purchase/Developed Date” checkbox has been added for systems or processes on which the deployment date was not recorded.
- Colour Coded Residual Risk Indicator
Once a hazard zone has been assessed residual risk assumed by the facility is indicated in the risk assessment screen. This information is now transferred to the explorer bar at each hazard zone using a red, yellow, or green triangle at each hazard zone node. This feature has been added to assist the user in prioritizing their risk reduction efforts.
- Residual Risk Summary
At the bottom of the risk assessment screen residual risk summaries have been added. The summary is compiled by extracting an aggregate of the risk levels at each of the three stages of the risk assessment process for the risk assessment that is being displayed. This feature has been added to assist the user in prioritizing their risk reduction efforts and ensuring that reasonable efforts are made to reduce overall risk for each system or process.
- Drag and Drop to Re-sequence Hazard Zones
In order to improve efficiency hazard zones can now be re-sequenced using the new drag and drop feature. In order to re-sequence multiple hazard zones the Shift and Ctrl key can be used during the selection process.
- Linked Document Preview
In previous CIRSMA™ version linked documents could only be viewed by opening the documents outside of the CIRSMA™ system. With this release linked documents can now be previewed in the Linked Document Preview tab using the applicable application.
- Improved Navigation in Risk Assessment Screen
New navigation tabs have been added to the risk assessment screen. Details, notes, remarks, and the executive summary can now be viewed by clicking on the appropriate tab.
- Auto-complete Hazard Zone Names
In order to improve the efficiency and consistency of the CIRSMA™ system Hazard Zone names that have been used are selectable when a new Hazard Zone is being added. Once the user enter several letters in the Hazard Zone name field the system searches the previous 100 entries and provides a list of those entries. The user can then select from the list or continue the manually add the name of the Hazard Zone.
- New Performance Selections ISO 13949-1:1999, EN 954-1:1997
One new selection has been added to both the ISO 13849-1:1999 and EN 954-1:1997 tables. The user is now able to select a movable guard with a Category 4 dual channel interlocking system.
- Additional Safety Element Field
In order to ensure that all protective measures are appropriately documented, a new data entry field has been added and is enabled by selecting the “Additional safety element” check box. Once the new field is enabled a short string of descriptive text can be entered.
- Additional Reference Standards
Several additional standards have been added to the referenced standards section in the integrated help. The additional standards are intended to assist the user of the CIRSMA™ system in determining appropriate protective measures.
- Calendar for Scheduling
A calendar screen has been added in order to keep track of events that are relevant to the risk assessment and safety management system. This feature is particularly useful for setting up training events and scheduling tasks. Quick navigation from the calendar screen to other records in enabled by right-clicking on the calendar event and choosing from the menu options.
- Task Reminders
Once a task has been created and assigned CIRSMA™ users are able to be automatically reminded that due dates are approaching. The reminders are enabled by setting up the task reminder in the Options screen. Reminder options are stored for each CIRSMA™ user. This feature is only available with Secured Database installations.
- Training Reminders
Once a human recourse has been assigned to a training course CIRSMA™ users are able to be automatically reminded that training dates are approaching or over due. The reminders are enabled by setting up the training reminder in the Options screen. Retraining reminders are also provided if the retraining frequency field is set to grater than “0” in the training course screen.
- Training Scheduled in Calendar
Training events can now be entered in the CIRSMA™ system calendar. Once an event is set up human resources can be assigned to attend the event. Upon successful completion of the training reminders for that training course will cease until the retraining due date approaches.
- Continuous Training Evaluation
The status of human resource training requirements is now continuously evaluated by the CIRSMA™ system. Results of the evaluation are displayed in both the training and system resource screens as well as the training reminders if that option is chosen. This feature is intended to ensure that training requirements are fulfilled on a continuing basis.
- Information Display Grids
Information in the training, system resource, and search screens, are now able to be displayed in an interactive display grid. Content can be determined by using the new Field Chooser feature which is activated by Right-Clicking on the information grid. The desired fields are enabled or disable using the new drag and drop feature.
The Field Chooser can also be used to sort the information. Once the user has determined which information to display, the information can be sorted by dragging the column header into the Field Grouping area right above the display grid.
- Print Preview
All information that is displayed in the interactive display grids can now be printed. Prior to printing the information displayed can be previewed using the Right-Clicking and selecting Preview from the selection menu.
- Database Selection and Check on Startup
In previous versions of CIRSMA™ the system automatically opened the database that was last accessed by the system. In order to provide greater flexibility and to prevent database corruption the system now allows the user to select the desired database at startup. Once a database is selected the system also checks for version compatibility in order to ensure that the user is using the correct version of CIRSMA.
- New License Management
With this release a new licensing arrangement has also been deployed in order to provide greater flexibility for the user. License files can now be requested online. The license file is sent to the user and is to be placed preferably in a directory that is not likely to be accessed by the user. CIRSMA™ checks the validity of this license file each time the user starts the CIRSMA™ system.
- Floating Licenses
The release of the new licensing arrangement has enabled CIRSMA™ to use a floating license system. The floating license manager has been deployed in order to provide greater flexibility for the user. Those interested in using floating licenses should contact Industrial Safety Integration to determine the system requirements and its suitability for their installation.
- MS SQL Server Database Capability
In order to serve the needs of larger companies this version of CIRSMA™ enables the use of a Microsoft SQL database. Existing databases can be converted from MS Access to MS SQL without any effect on the user experience or interface. users interested in using MS SQL should contact Industrial Safety Integration to determine the system requirements and arrange for database conversion.
- MS Vista™ Compatible
This release of CIRSMA™ is MS VISTA compatible.
- Task Updates Using an SMTP Server
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMPT) has also been integrated into this release. SMPT ensures that messages that are automatically sent by the CIRSMA™ system reach the intended recipient regardless of the type of e-mail program in use. The SMPT setting can be configured in the options screen.
